Brisbane Terminal

DP World Brisbane's facilities are located at Fisherman Island Terminal, at the mouth of the Brisbane River. The Port of Brisbane is the largest in Queensland and the fastest growing port in Australia.  The DP World Brisbane site is one of our terminals that is semi-automated. The Fisherman Island Terminal is a dynamic 7-day, 24-hour operation that offers variety and represents an outstanding opportunity to grow as a professional in Australia’s Logistics and Supply Chain Industry.

About the role

We are currently seeking an experienced electrical tradesperson for a full-time, permanent position operating on a variable roster supplementing the rostered shift employees, reporting to the Maintenance Execution Superintendents. This position will perform efficient and effective maintenance assigned by Maintenance Management across a variety of equipment types including High Voltage network, Infrastructure, Quay Cranes, Auto Stack Cranes and Shuttles.

Variable Salaried Employees (VSEs) work a non-fixed roster to support the maintenance needs of the business and are guaranteed a minimum annual salary as set out in our Enterprise Agreement. They must be reasonably available but have a degree of flexibility in deciding which shifts they are unavailable for work.

Key accountabilities

• Undertake repairs and refurbishment to required standard ensuring codes of practice are aligned with.
• Conduct regular planned maintenance.
• Complete job reporting in an accurate and timely manner.
• Operate in compliance with site safety systems.
• Liaise with and assist providers of specialist electrical support services for example, contractors and suppliers.
• Upgrade electrical circuitry drawings to reflect modifications/additions.
• Undertake projects as advised and directed
• Supervise apprentices as required.

Experience, Skills and Qualifications Required

• Successful completion of an apprenticeship in an appropriate trade qualification with a current Queensland Electrical Workers License or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar industrial environment.
• LVR/CPR competency.
• Previous experience in electrical procedures in a workshop and/or industrial environment.
• Experience and knowledge of PLC systems (preferably Siemens) and Variable Speed Drives essential.
• Experience with Operational Technologies and automated machinery/system.
• An understanding of equipment functionality and service requirements.
• Thorough understanding of regular maintenance requirements.
• Ability to work at heights with High Risk License.
• Literacy and numeracy to complete standard forms.
• Fitness levels to DP World medical standard.
• Experience of HV (11kv) switching
• Ability to work irregular shift work including nights, weekends and public holidays
• Experience with diesel electric haul trucks, locomotives or similar, lift industry or exposure to automated mobile equipment would be highly regarded.
